Wild Horse Rescue Center is a nonprofit 100% dependent on donations from the public. We rely on your help to provide our rescued mustangs with the best care possible. It costs about $1,700 to care for a horse without medical problems for a year, our horses often require extensive medical care throughout the first year following their rescue, and thus – they inquire a cost of almost $3,000 per year. We usually house about 30 horses, so caring for them is very costly.

Sponsoring a horse ensures they get the care they deserve.
A sponsorship of one of our mustangs also makes the perfect gift. This is truly a gift that gives more because it not only a gift from you to that special someone – but also a gift to one of our mustangs in need. All sponsorships will receive a personalized gift certificate. After you make your sponsorship we will contact you for the details so make sure you fill in your email correctly!

Our Sanctuary Mustangs

Meet our WHRC permanent residents that rely on sponsorships.

Romeo

Romeo

Romeo is a 15-year old Mustang gelding from Nevada. He is a permanent resident at WHRC. Romeo is a true mama’s boy. He loves mommy Diane (and carrots) more than anything!! Romeo is very friendly and loves people. He loves to give kisses (especially if you give carrots!).

Rio

Rio

Rio is a 24-year old Mustang gelding from Nevada. He is a permanent resident at WHRC. After getting used to people, Rio has become is quite the ladies man. He has a tendency to charm the socks off all WHRC’s female visitors! And we must say – he is very easy on the eyes!

Tatonka

Tatonka

Tatonka is a 12-year old Mustang gelding from Wyoming. He is a permanent resident at WHRC. Tatonka is WHRC’s teddy bear. He is the most gentle and kindhearted mustang of them all. We call him the peace maker because more than once, he has broken up a fight between other horses. He also has a very special relationship with the dogs at the center.

Dash

Dash

Dash is a 12-year-old Quarter Horse gelding donated to the rescue. He is a permanent resident at WHRC. Dash is as you can see, ‘Dash’ingly handsome! And he knows it! After arriving at the center and he started putting on some weight and his coat became sleek and shiny, he is really feeling himself, and it shows. Dash does not walk – he glides.

Charlie

Charlie

Little Charlie is a 24-year old wild Burro from Nevada. He is a permanent resident at WHRC. Sweet Charlie is the only Burro at WHRC. However, he does not know he is a Burro – he thinks he is the biggest and most handsome Mustang of them all. Charlie has finally found a loving home at the center and he runs free with his mustang friends on open pasture.

Mini Thunder

Mini-Thunder

Lill’ Thunder is a 3-year old gelding donated to our rescue. He is a permanent resident at WHRC. Thunder, very much like Charlie, thinks he is a large handsome mustang. He walks around like he owns the place and bosses everyone around. He truly lives up to his name! His best friend is Romeo, you can always find this odd pair hanging out together.

You can also choose to sponsor any of our mustangs that are up for adoption. They rely on sponsorships and donations while receiving care at the WHRC.
