After each morning Q&A session, we will be riding out through the pastures and treed canopy lanes that wind through the Withlacoochee flood plain. It will be a great opportunity to get your horse out of the arena and freshen their mind while improving your horsemanship.

Concepts of “Flight Zone” and “Balance Point.”
How to use a cow as a tool to train your horse.
Working cattle out of a herd, sorting skills.
Holding the rodear

We will be working cattle out in the pasture surrounded by towering oak trees. This four-day Stockmanship clinic is appropriate for all experience levels.

Hackamore, Two-Rein and Bridle —

You can take this opportunity to start or advance a horse in these traditional methods.
Come prepared to be challenged to reach a higher level of horsemanship and confidence. In order to get the most out of your experience, consider studying Martin’s book, “Cow-Horse Confidence” published by Western Horseman for both the Horsemanship and Cow working, as well as any of his DVDs that pertain to your areas of interest ( Round Pen to Arena, Hackamore-Bridle series, A-Pen).

Let us know ahead of time if you want us to bring along any special size hackamores or mecates for you to try out. We also have half-breed and spade bits we can bring along to try out as well.
